Dakhla Windsurfing Holidays Overview
In the middle of the western Sahara, a 2 hours flight from Casablanca, is a town called Dakhla situated on a small peninsula bordering the Atlantic coast called Rio de Oro. Stretching South from the small town is a huge lagoon that we think God must have made just for Windsurfers, Wing Foilers, Kitesurfers and! It is one of the most perfect spots for these sports on the planet for windsurfing. This stunning lagoon with an incredible year around wind is a true windsurf paradise.
The wind stats in this area are just astounding so you can sail the whole year in Dakhla (even in December & January, the lowest wind season, it is still 60% reliable)!! The water is perfectly flat with huge shallow areas; just perfect for beginners & improvers; simply the best spot on earth to learn to windsurf (or Wing Foil).
In recent years the accommodation options have taken a big step up, and we can now offer some quite high standard luxury stays. With these new luxury-end properties, it is also possible to travel with a non-windsurfing partner or family (as long as they don’t mind the remote location). We only work with the best hand-picked accommodations in Dakhla; if it is not on our website it is because it does not meet our high standards.
