Windsurfing Holidays Karpathos
Despite all the economic turmoil of recent years, Greece remains, in the summer months, one of the most popular destinations in southern Europe. In addition to the mainland, the Greek islands pull many tourists into their spell. The seemingly countless beautiful beaches as well as the many ancient sites strengthens their appeal. A trip to the land of the Gods is also worthwhile for windsurfers and kite surfers, since the Meltemi regularly provides wind throughout the summer.
Deserted beaches, idyllic mountain villages and cozy tavernas - this is Karpathos. The charm of the island is her virginity and originality. Karpathos is located on the eastern South Aegean island arc and is 46 km north-east of Rhodes. For many years, Karpathos has been a destination magnet for windsurfers returning year after year, thanks to the wind record. Come in summertime and you'll find everything surfers hearts wish for! The island stretches between Rhodes and Crete, and the Meltemi blows from the north through the high mountains.

Family Multi-activity Holidays
KIDS - With its warm, shallow water area, protected by a spit and a sandy beach, Chicken Bay offers ideal conditions for kids. The centre provides special kids equipment and wetsuits and the experienced instructors guarantee a lot of fun on the water. The tuition time is kept flexible depending on the wind conditions.
The centre also features a children's club which is available at an additional charge and is open to kids up until the age of 12 from 9:30-12:30 and from 14:20-18:30 every day. Situated close to the beach, and right next to the windsurf centre, the kids club has its own playground and shaded outdoor area. Extra hours and evening hours are possible for an extra charge on request.
MOUNTIAN BIKING - Karpathos is a beautiful island and there is no better way to explore it than by mountain bike. The island is 50km long and 11km at its widest point and the highest peak on the island is Kali Limni with an altitude of 1215 meters.
Our partner centre uses three models of Scott Bikes, the Scale 760 hardtail mountain bike, the Genius 750 and the Spark 760 (both full-suspension) all-mountain bikes. The models are well suited to the island and will allow you to tackle all of the trails. The Genius however, with its remote suspension controller on the handle bar, offers that extra bit of traction on the steep and rocky climbs, plus 150mm of suspension fork for absorbing the bumps and drops on the descents.
The bikes are always equipped with a helmet, a multi-tool set, an inner tube, a hand pump and a lock, whether for rental or on a guided tour.
The Wind In Karpathos
High wind days in July and August are the rule rather than the exception. However, in May, September and October steady winds also delight many windsurfers.
The Windsurfing In Karpathos
Karpathos is a paradise for wind addicts: Chicken Bay for beginners and Gun Bay for intermediates and experts. Here, everyone gets his or her moneys worth.
Gun Bay is a true high-wind spot where you can let off steam and forget the rest of the world. The flat water near the shore is perfect for practicing jibes and the spit off the coast guarantees your safety. Those who are looking for a real challenge can surf out of Gun Bay to Paradise Bay - a bay which definitely deserves its name. Here the wind is about 1-2 Beaufort stronger and the perfectly flat water delivers superb blasting conditions. Due to an 80 meters wide shallow water area, Chicken Bay offers ideal conditions for beginners, intermediates and freestylers.
