One of the biggest concerns for many clients travelling to Dakhla is the quality of the equipment and how busy it will be on the water. This centre offers the latest Wing Foil, Kitesurf and Windsurf equipment from Fanatic and Duotone, plus it is set far away from all of the other sports centres, with buckets of space. When you combine this with the very high quality of the accommodation ( at La Tour D'Eole), this makes for a first-class set-up.
The Ocean Sports centre, here, has developed a lot recently and now offers more extra facilities such as hot showers, a large storage area, plus seating and sun lounging areas out of the wind. Lunchtime BBQs here are popular, with a new restaurant service coming later in 2023.
Windsurfing - new for 2023 the centre has invested in the latest equipment from Duotone and Fanatic. It is rare to find such a well-equipped windsurf centre in Dakhla. This spot is ideal for all levels, with beginner classes normally in the morning before the wind picks up too much.
Kitesurfing - the extra space on the water here is particularly appreciated by kitesurfers, where other parts of the lagoon can feel a bit crowded. Also, around every other week, depending on the tide and moon cycles, there is an awesome additional part of the lagoon that gets flooded, locally called 'La Piscine'. The water here is butter flat making for a really amazing extra spot. It's not essential but certainly a 'nice to have'. Speak to us about timing your holiday dates with the correct tides.
Wing Foiling - As with all locations now, Wing Foiling is becoming very popular. Due to the very wide part of the lagoon here, there can be additional 'wind chop' when the wind gets up, which beginner wing foiling may find challenging. Once up on the foil, it's no issue, and there is superb instruction on hand, if needed. For those that are already up and riding, this is a dream spot.
